There's something powerful about realising you're not the only one
Group therapy offers a unique opportunity to learn alongside others, share experiences, and practise new skills in a supportive environment.
Why Group Therapy?
Group therapy offers something individual therapy can't: the experience of being understood by people who are going through the same thing. There's a particular kind of relief in hearing someone else describe exactly what you've been feeling — and realising you're not broken or alone.
Research consistently shows that group therapy can be as effective as individual therapy for many issues. It also provides a natural environment to practise new skills — like communication, boundary-setting, and emotional regulation — with real-time feedback and support.
Group works well as a standalone or alongside individual sessions, giving you additional structure and community between one-on-one work.
Available Groups
DBT Skills Group
A structured programme covering all four DBT modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. You'll learn and practise skills alongside others who are working on the same challenges.
ADHD Support Group
A space to connect with other adults navigating life with ADHD. Share strategies, troubleshoot challenges, and feel understood by people who actually get it — because they live it too.
PEERS Social Skills
An evidence-based social skills programme developed at UCLA. PEERS teaches practical skills for making and keeping friends, handling conflict, and navigating social situations — skills that don't always come naturally for neurodivergent teens.
LGBTQ+ Support
A safe, affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals in Hong Kong to explore identity, process minority stress, share experiences, and build community. Being queer in HK comes with unique pressures — this group is a place where you don't have to explain that.
What a Group Session Looks Like
Each group has its own structure, but the general shape is similar: we start with a check-in, move into the session's focus (a skill, a topic, a guided discussion), and close with reflection and takeaways.
Groups are led by me — not peer-led — which means there's clinical structure, safety guardrails, and someone guiding the conversation so it stays productive and inclusive.
You'll never be put on the spot. Participation is encouraged but never forced. Many people spend their first few sessions just listening, and that's completely welcome.
